One of the UAE's largest property portals was operating on a legacy architecture that could not scale with their rapidly growing inventory of over 200,000 active listings across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Sharjah. Their existing search infrastructure returned slow results under peak load, the map-based search experience was broken on mobile devices, and agents had no centralized CRM to manage leads, track listing performance, or communicate with prospective buyers. The platform had no way to surface neighbourhood-level insights, price trend data, or school and amenity proximity — all of which had become table-stakes expectations for property seekers in the UAE market.

What we built
We rebuilt the platform as a full-stack custom web application using React on the frontend and Node.js with MongoDB on the backend, deployed on a scalable AWS infrastructure. The centerpiece of the rebuild was a high-performance map-based search engine powered by Mapbox GL JS, allowing users to explore properties geographically, draw custom search boundaries, and toggle heatmap overlays showing price per square foot by area. An advanced filter system was built with over 30 parameters including property type, furnishing status, completion status, developer, and commute time to a custom destination. Each property detail page was rebuilt with a mortgage calculator integrated with live UAE Central Bank base rates, a floor plan viewer, a 360-degree virtual tour embed system, and a contextual neighbourhood profile pulling in school ratings, nearby amenities, and public transport proximity via Google Places API. On the agent side we delivered a full CRM portal with lead inbox, listing performance analytics, automated follow-up reminders, and a bulk listing management tool. A dedicated TruCheck verification badge system was implemented to surface verified listings above unverified ones, directly tackling the fake listing problem that had damaged user trust across UAE portals.
